Dr Ali Leads The First Parliamentarian Visit Of The UAE To Australia

Dr Ali led a historic inaugural delegation of the UAE’s Federal National Council (FNC) to Australia. He was joined by some of the youngest members of the FNC Marwan Al Muhairi, a member of both the economic and legislation committee and Sara Falknaz, member of education, culture, sports, media and youth.

The top priorities were the continuing common interests between the UAE and Australia. As the upcoming host of COP28, climate change was also a key topic of discussion, with meetings held between Dr Ali and key figures such as the shadow minister for climate change.

Round table discussions were also held with bodies including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade along with the UAE’s ambassador in Australia, and the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.

Drawing on his passion for education, Dr Ali also gave a speech to students at the Australian National University at its centre for Arab and Islamic studies, on ‘extremism and education’.
